This piece of software provides you with a simple way to convert the videos you own into MKV files. MakeMKV is available for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. This program can load DVDs (including high-definition DVDs) and Blu-ray discs (which are usually encrypted) and it is very easy to use. You can load the video files either directly from the DVD or Blu-ray disc or you can load them from disc images stored on your computer.

The conversion speed of this piece of software is pretty impressive. It took me about 4 minutes to convert a 4.36 GB DVD movie and the quality of the output is the same as the one of the original movie. One downside might be the fact that you can't change any of the parameters of the video file or add any kind of effects. But due to the fact that the quality of the output is the same as the original DVD or Blu-ray movie, the lack of customization options shouldn't bother you that much.

If you want to watch the movie and store it at the same time on your computer as a MKV file, this piece of software gives you this possibility. The conversion to MKV videos (Matroska video file types) is very useful, because these types of multimedia files can be loaded by almost any kind of multimedia player. You can stream the video in order to watch it while it is being converted not to waste your time.

To sum it all up, if you are ever in need of an easy-to-use piece of software that quickly converts DVD and Blu-ray videos into MKV files, then this program is definitely worth trying.
